I don't know how much drama I've seen develop over loot, so I have to agree with Dex. Especially since not all the details of the loot system/gear system are known.

I personally am not a loot whore. Everyone in our guild seems very cool and solid. Hell, we been together for over 1 year already! =)
I play for fun and wouldn't argue if someone else got the loot. Eventually it will be my turn, even if it is last. It will be the fun of kicking ass together. Plus its fun when you pvp and beat someone with better gear. It makes baby vader smile when that happens

I like the idea of players getting loot first but why not make it a matter of different loot types. Gear for players and gear for companions.
Whatever system the game brings, however fair or unfair is, it won't really matter. When TOR comes, we will have our own system for such situations. We won't be a bunch of strangers in the instance. We'll be a guild. Which knows who has priorities, needs, etc.

I thought I heard somewhere that they were considering four or eight man raids, perhaps the lower count to ease the loot raging that is inevitable with companion vs. main character. I foresee what Bruce originally posted happening, "Main Player Character > Companion". With a group of strangers at least.
August phrased it so very elegantly, "We'll be a guild. Which knows who has priorities, needs, etc." That's why I aimed for a level headed guild when considering which one to apply to/join.
There is no DKP system in the Star Wars Cannon. :P
I wonder if ull be able to re-loot ur items of uberness you gave to your companions once they turn on you.....think about it, you gave ur companions good stuff to make them uber, i know ull be able to re-equip/unequip any item you give them but still u wont get that chance if you piss them off during a scene or they die somehwere becasue of shit you did or said, i know for a fact were going to have ship jumper companions and ones that die at some point, will we get those items back???? maybe....maybe not, if anything im only going to equip my companions with backseat gear,
i think it should go: MAIN > ALT > M.comp > A.comp peoples alts will actually be useful as long as there republic, while companions are still npc's that will come and go,

A simple easy fix to loot problems is to simple Name loot in advance...Kill boss loot drops it says in text on item knight only or trooper only etc etc...And have a second set of loot only for companions saying companion only.. Im sure bioware hasnt built all the loot tables already so its just a matter of anding that extra text to the item and when said item drop that class roles on it or bids if we use a dkp system.
But at the end of the day its like august said we are going to do what we want or best for our guild so it wont really matter what they put in the game.
